Invitation to join the Stonegate Serpents Swim Team
Hi, I'm Brian Cheng, head coach of the Stonegate Swim Club's youth swim team, the Stonegate Serpents. I and my fellow coaches would like to personally invite you to join our swim team family.
The Stonegate Serpents team has room in all age groups for new kids! We offer lessons for beginners age 4 and up, to pre-team for new swimmers, to regular swim team for swimmers up to age 18. The only requirement to join the swim team is membership in the Stonegate Swim Club.
Our summer swim team is so much more than swim meets, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. From M-F practices that are always fun, to social activities on summer days and evenings, to bbqs and potlucks, the swim team is a warm, welcoming way for your entire family to enjoy their summer.
At the same time, we've taught so many individuals how to swim and progress through many levels of swimming. We've also become one of the best community swim teams in the area. From competition to meeting new people to just generally have fun, Stonegate is a great place to spend your summers!
All of our coaches are experienced swim instructors, and our lead coaches are lifelong educators. During the school year I am the physical education teacher at Twinbrook Elementary as well as the administrative coach for the Rockville Montgomery Swim Club (RMSC) at Martin Luther King, Jr.. Swim Center. My wife Danielle and I are happy to be a part of the Stonegate swim team family and are the parents of a future swimmer on the team! I am a graduate of Good Counsel, University of Maryland and I have coached all levels of swimming for the past 25 years. I'm proud of the Stonegate swim team family we have built over the last 15 years. My sister Anna Cheng joins me as assistant coach, and she is the kindergarten teacher at Flower Valley Elementary and an RMSC head coach. She also has two sons who are 19 and 17. Anna brings a lot of experience and enthusiasm to the team!
Information about swim evaluations and group lessons will be emailed to SSC members.
